NaPoWriMo Day 1
As I depart
My Farewell
When I board the train,
I will leave you behind,
Watching a huge spark,
My intentions were different,
But I have regained my strength.
By the time you wake up in the morning,
I will have finished
The last book of poems,
Which will be my ultimate therapy
To heal and let you go.
When the train leaves the station
I won’t take anything from you,
Neither your scent nor your musky essence
You’ll be that sad and distant memory
That I never want to evoke.
When I arrive, I’ll blend in with the others
Those whom you never allowed me
To see or know, let alone enjoy
I’ll feel alive and powerful
Breathing and celebrating.
My new life will fill
with joy and freedom.
By my side, other people
will walk through the times
both good and bad, but together
we’ll drink fine wines
and we’ll eat tasty meals
dessert being on me, of course!
