In many cultures, the shortest night of the year is a time to celebrate and make special wishes.

For pagans, it was a time to honor the Sun God and ask for his blessing on their crops.

Summer Solstice

In the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice goes on June 21 or 22. In the Southern Hemisphere, it falls on December 21 or 22.

On these days, the Sun is at its highest point in the sky, and the days are the longest. For people in northern cultures, the summer solstice is a time of joy and celebration.

In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s a time of reflection and introspection.

For pagans, the summer solstice is a time to honor the Sun God and ask for his blessing on their crops.
For Christians, it’s a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

And for everyone else, it’s a time to enjoy the longest day of the year and the warmest…
