On December 1st, the World Health Organization joins forces with other global partners to celebrate World AIDS Day. The theme for this year is “Equalize,” and WHO is using this day as a call to action for world leaders and citizens to address the inequalities preventing progress in ending the AIDS epidemic.

AIDS is a severe condition that has impacted millions of people worldwide. Although it was observed for the first time in the early 1980s, researchers have advanced in knowledge. There are already patients who have been cured, and the work to understand all its peculiarities is ending. It would not be strange if it occurs a vaccine to prevent it.
