i) Your womb, the gorgeous part I loved
ii) Is like a garden of unending possibilities
iii) But often, it becomes the taboo fruit
iv) Leaving me starving for more.
v) Sometimes, it even desires to be bitten
vi) And I find myself unable to resist
vii) But other times, it curls itself
viii) And all I receive are hysterical flamethrowers
ix) That sears me from the inside out.
x) My appendage has the nectar
xi) That pollinates your flower
xii) But occasionally, it changes
xiii) And desires to perch in other gardens
xiv) Sunflowers, tulips, roses
xv) They all call to me
xvi) And it’s hard to resist their temptations
xvii) But I know deep down that you are unique
xviii) And I always return to your flower
xix) Because it’s where I belong.
xx) Am I crazy, or do you have me crazy?
xxi) One thing is for sure:
xxii) When you left, it left a mark on my sanity
xxiii) I struggled to cope
xxiv) Trying to manage the pain
xxv) And the loss that came with your departure.
xxvi) But I also knew that I had to heal
xxvii) That I had to move on
xxviii) And let go of the past.
xxix) I took the adage to heart:
xxx) “A nail removes another nail.”
xxxi) And I set out to find a new love
xxxii) Someone who would help me forget you
xxxiii) And all the hurt that came with you.
xxxiv) It wasn’t easy, but with time
xxxv) I learned how to trust again
