As an avid sports fan, I understand the appeal of following a favorite team or athlete and why taking breaks from work or everyday life can be beneficial. However, there is a stark difference between having a healthy interest in sports and becoming an unhealthy fanatic who needs to gain perspective on life. The line between these two camps is often thin but necessary to recognize for our sanity.

Sports can teach values such as perseverance, dedication, and teamwork, but often professional teams are more focused on profit than values which has caused public outrage
