A Poem for the End of the World: Finding Hope in Gratitude and Joy
Creating a Better World: Acting for Climate Change and Peace
War brings us grief and a sense of mourning,
For all, we have lost and the pain we are bearing.
Though egoism and greed spring forth in hour turnings,
Gratitude, joy, and hope will help us keep on learning.
The climate changes with each passing day;
The rains come forth too often as storms cause dismay.
But when the sun peeks out from morning’s first light,
We’re reminded of nature’s beauty in full flight.
The air we breathe helps to remind us of life,
As birds sing a melody through the dawning light.
It’s up to us to keep our environment safe,
We owe it to future generations that will take our place.
It is a time for reflection, consideration, and change;
We must recognize the importance of nature’s exchange.
For if we don’t tend to its needs and preserve it,
We’ll be in danger of having nothing left to serve.
